Director of Community Education + Outreach
"For me, becoming isn't about arriving somewhere or achieving a certain aim. I see it instead as forward motion, a means of evolving, a way to reach continuously toward a better self. The journey doesn't end.” ~ Michelle Obama
We’re each on our own journey to “continuously reach toward a better self,” and our community education programs are designed to provide inspiration, support and practical strategies. We create programming and events to help you connect, find purpose, maintain positive relationships, and thrive.
I’m thrilled to be leading the community education programs and outreach efforts at Flourish. I sincerely believe in the power of connection, community and shared purpose, and I love the energy and enthusiasm that arise from groups coming together to learn and grow. Using a culturally responsive lens, our approach is dynamic and interactive.
Across my career, I’ve worked in communications, content development and teaching. I’ve written and spoken extensively on parenting issues, with a particular emphasis on working parents. And I’ve been very involved in the Pasadena community as volunteer, serving on the Boards of Kidspace Children’s Museum, Foothill Family Service and Mayfield Junior School, and leading a Girl Scout troop for eight years. I have a Master’s degree in Communications and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and English from Northwestern University. And my husband and I have two daughters and a son.
