Alisha Kalisher

Expressive Arts Practitioner and Community Education Facilitator

“Creativity runs deep in us all. It is our nature and it is of nature. It is our heritage. We live it and we breathe it; we are most alive when we create because to be alive is to create. Wholly creative, we create to be whole.” ~ Robert Sandford

I am devoted to helping individuals access their innate creativity as a pathway to healing and empowerment. My work is grounded in the belief that creative expression fosters resilience, builds self-awareness, and nurtures connection with oneself and others. I specialize in working with adults and young girls, using the healing power of intermodal expressive arts to support emotional well-being and personal growth. Intermodal expressive arts involves integrating various creative modalities—such as visual arts, movement, writing, and music. This approach allows clients to explore their experiences through multiple forms of expression, deepening their connection to their inner world and fostering personal insight and resilience.

As someone with a deep commitment to social justice, I strive to create inclusive, culturally responsive spaces where all voices are heard and valued. My approach is rooted in honoring diverse identities and experiences, fostering a sense of belonging and safety for every individual I work with. I view the practice of expressive arts as an embodied and collaborative process, where clients can reconnect with their bodies, stories, and creative essence in ways that feel authentic and empowering.

I hold a master’s degree in Depth Psychology and Creativity from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a certificate in Social Emotional Arts Facilitation from UCLA Arts and Healing. I am currently furthering my studies in intermodal expressive arts therapy at the Expressive Arts Institute. In addition to my academic background, I am the founder and executive director of The Bella Arts Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing grants to support expressive and creative arts programs for trauma survivors.
