"When the night has come And the land is dark And the moon is the only light we'll see No, I won't be afraid Oh, I won't be afraid Just as long as you stand, stand by me." ~ Ben E. King
I’m so glad you have considered this step to support your growth and development! As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) at Flourish, I am influenced by attachment and developmental approaches from a culturally responsive lens. Working with me will help you improve awareness, guide goals, and increase meaningful connections in your life.
I believe that the past, present, and future impact our current experiences and emotions. In our work together, you will gain in me an attentive listener and partner for your life journey.
I approach sessions with curiosity and a supportive attitude as we consider how life choices, relationships, and core feelings have led to where you are and how we can interact in new ways to change these dynamics. I hope to collaborate together and develop a tailored approach that fits your unique experiences and hopes for your future!
As we have navigated new complexities in recent years including a global pandemic and ever shifting dynamic social/political contexts, we have seen an increase in anxiety. I treat anxiety and other presentations (depression, ADHD, neurodivergence, grief/loss) from an attachment and culturally responsive perspective. This approach means exploring how you relate to yourself and others, changing perspective and working through core feelings undermining your lives and parenting (for those of you who are parents).
I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral therapeutic approaches and a toolbox of somatic grounding and psychoeducation tools. These approaches create awareness of how feelings begin in our brains and impact our bodies; these approaches help us to manage dysregulation and increase self-control and confidence.
