“Step out of the history that is holding you back. Step into the new story you are willing to create.” ~ Oprah Winfrey

What is your personal story?  What would you like it to be?  It often happens that the personal story we feel deep inside and the story we manifest in our daily lives become askew. We become blocked or stuck in a way that prevents us from living the story we truly desire.  Life transitions, stress, depression, traumas, and societal and cultural realities can all keep us from flourishing.  Do not despair, it is never too late to turn a new page and begin the story you dream of for your life.

As a therapist, it is my job to help you become the creator of the story and life you desire. When working with me, you will be welcomed into a warm, nonjudgmental atmosphere in which you can step into the unknown, express yourself fully, be curious and try on new parts of yourself. I provide an uplifting, relational approach which offers resources for personal growth and development. Together, we will take a holistic approach that considers mind, heart, body and spirit to craft an individual therapy plan unique to you.

My training includes evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral, Narrative, Dialectic, Somatic and Developmental. I combine these traditional talk therapies with my extensive training in the Therapeutic Expressive Arts to encourage clients to move beyond words alone and explore their stories at the deepest level. Sessions are always guided by you, the story writer, so we move as you are comfortable. Together we will meet whatever comes, so that you can begin creating the personal story that is in alignment with your inner authentic self.

My specialties include anxiety and stress, depression, self-esteem / self-acceptance, self-empowerment and personal growth, communication and relationships, personal blocks, chronic pain or illness, grief and loss, life transitions, processing trauma, parent coaching, perinatal mood or anxiety disorders, expressive art therapy, and seniors and aging.  I have a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Expressive Art Therapy, from the California Institute of Integral Studies, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a Minor in Art History, from Loyola Marymount University, and drama therapy training from Living Arts Center.
